Accessibility

Role: PROJECT Lead. WORKED WITH UX DESIGNER, UX RESEARCHER, and DEVELOPER

I became a certified Accessibility Senpai in order to improve accessibility at Audible and teach others how to make their designs accessible.

Making products usable for a wide range of customers, from those who are temporary impaired (ex: looking at a phone screen while walking in the bright sun) to those with disabilities is critical. Since Audible offers audiobooks, we have a high percentage of customers with visual and other disabilities including cognitive ones including dyslexia. The current Audible experience does not meet the minimum usability standards.

A User Researcher, fellow UX Designer, and I facilitated a Walk the Store with Amazonians that identify as visually impaired or legally blind. Our objective was to identify the weaknesses and strengths of the web experience. We asked 5 participants to walk through the core Audible flows on both Amazon and Audible.com.

After our Walk the Store Study, we collected research on accessibility, audited our Audible experiences, and identified were improvements need to be made.
